Deeno lead Otis down a secondary access tunnel towards the crew quarters. On the way they would pass by the rarely used laboratory where he was hoping to pick up an electric pulse device.
"Did you have to shoot the other one, Deeno?" Tan Kade asked.
"Yes." The affirmative left no room for argument, his tone was stern.
Lo glared at Tan as they trailed behind the two men. The next few minutes were silent. As they approached the lab Deeno signalled to the others to stay back. With weapons ready he entered the darkened workspace. A moment later Deeno called out. "It's all clear."
Otis tentatively entered flanked by the other two.
"What are you looking for?" Tan began to search alongside Deeno.
"There should be a pulse grenade or two in here. "
"Are you sparked? That would take out our ships systems!"
"Not if most of them are disengaged. Besides there's another ship to use it on."
They all began searching. Lo found three of the devices but only one had a charge large enough to do damage. Deeno looked all three over to make sure.
"This one will do nicely. The others wouldn't stun a brindle rat."
