(the chapter opens with Arthor and tenebris stepping off the boat in the evening into the dock and they see the boat karri took)
Arthor: the boats still here so maybe he's still in the village.
Tenebris: there's one person that knows everything that happens in this town.
(they walk into Jaeja's bar)
Jaeja: Tenebris, there you are, you seem to be in better spirits.
Tenebris: what does that mean?
Jaeja: well that karri boy came through here asking about a doctor, saying you were sick.
Arthor: karri was here! where did he go!?
Jaeja: woah, I thought you sent him to get a doctor.
Tenebris: he snuck off the island on his own, we're trying to bring him back, so if you know where he went you need to tell us.
Jaeja: He left with a man called Gregor about 3 hours ago, he seemed to know you guys.
Tenebris: yes, he gave us a ride back from barrok. do you know where they were headed?
Jaeja: they left for Renna. but if your able to go there yourself I highly suggest you do. they might be able to help with your condition.
Tenebris: if they left 3 hours ago in a merchant ship we'll never be able to catch up to them.
Jaeja: "Hough" ...I thought you might say that... I got another ship.
Tenebris: Really!? how rich are you!?
Jaeja: It's not my ship, One of my clients has a ship he keeps docked here until summer, he leaves it in my care, so please whatever you do, do not wreak it! "aghm" the others took the Southern route to avoid those pirates. seams like their was a run in on the way back. if you take the northern route, although more dangerous, it is faster.
Tenebris: Jaeja I owe you my life. (starts running out)
Jaeja: if their is one scratch on that boat you will!
(they board a boat and take off in the same direction tenebris had before.)
(cut to karri and gregor)
Karri: this is crazy, I cant believe I left my brother and tenebris, I want to go back!, no...no I can take care of myself, and tenebris needs my help. (karri goes on in the background)
Gregor: I remember my first time on my own. I was your age when I left my home to travel the seas. It was hard at first but when you see the open ocean, and get rocked to sleep by the waves, watch the sun set on the horizon, felt the power in the middle of a storm, that feeling like you might die, but you get through it, and find your footing and...
Karri: ...sorry what?
Gregor: (annoyed) I said, it looks like your having second thoughts about this, and I was trying to calm your nerves.
Karri: nerves I don't have nerves I was just considering the consequences of my blind trust of people and willingness to do anything if it means helping out someone im remotely close to.
Gregor: . . . that sounds like nerves
Karri: yeah im extremely nervous.
Gregor: listen theirs nothing to worry about you got the greatest sailor on the seas helping you out.
Karri: It's just that . . . i don't know, me and my brother finally have a chance at a better life, and the person that's giving us this chance is suffering. I just cant let that happen.
Gregor: If they really mean that much to you then your doing the right thing.
karri: I hope so.
(cut to arthor and tenebris)
Arthor: he's so stupid, he knows better then to go off on his own.
Tenebris: Arthor enough of that, karri did what he believed was right, all he was trying to do is help.
Arthor: you cant say anything, he did this because of you.
Tenebris: Really! well i apologies for almost dying twice.
Arthor: you should be, if we never left barrok with you, this never would have happened!
Tenebris: if you never left barrok who knows where you would be right now, for all we know you would've been dead by now if it wasn't for me.
Arthor: at least we would've been together, even if we were dead!
Tenebris: do you really think it was my decision to take you two from barrok, all I was supposed to do is get that message to the legions, a message telling of the literal end of the world and yet I decided that two strangers were more important. do you understand that!? obviously you don't, your just a kid crying about a few scars, well guess what everyone has scars, the fact of the matter is this world is a dark cruel place, where any semblance of light get swallowed up by an insurmountable darkness. If you think your special just because you lived a tough life then your wrong! (his eyes glow red for a second and his arm pulses and he staggers)
Arthor: (shocked and speechless)
Tenebris: (gets back up through the pain) listen, I want to find him, just like you. you guys are my responsibility.... the only purpose I've had in a really...really long time. so I don't plan on giving up anytime soon.
Arthor: why? you said it yourself we're strangers. there's no reason why you should be doing this for us.
Tenebris: the Creator works in mysterious ways, I still don't understand what his plan is, or why our paths crossed. but the one thing i do know is that he will make it all work out in the end.
Arthor: I hope so.
Tenebris: its late you should get some rest.
Arthor: alright. . . alright. (he walks down bellow deck)
Tenebris: hhghh. (looks up at the night sky.) ...why?
(cut to the dead star pirates in a tavern)
Orion: The next time I see that guy and his brats im going to rip his arms off!
Vela: Like hell you will, that guy took on all of us at the same time, even if we weren't trying to kill him you wouldn't be able to touch him!
Orion: Like you did anything against him, you were getting beat by a fake girl!
Vela: are you saying girls are weaker then boys.
Orion: no, i would never.
Vela: good.
Orion: i was saying guys are way stronger than girls
Vela: (eyes light up green) oh yeah! (tackles Orion off screen)
Leo: (runs over with drinks in his hand for the table) Wait you guys are fighting without me! (and jumps off screen with them) (pan to Corvis and Cepheus)
Cepheus: sir, this guy is too dangerous, we should pursue a different course of action. its not worth it.
Corvis: I felt it firsthand, and you saw it too, the dark energy it nullified my powers, even after I was stabbed I still held my terrain, I'm sure of it.
Cepheus: that's exactly what im saying, he's a wildcard, he's not a royal knight, he's not part of the legion's, the Kongur, or a bounty hunter. he's a total mystery.
Corvis: all the more reason, we have to find him again, he knows something no one else in the world does.
Cepheus: even if we did find him again, your in no condition to fight.
Corvis: there are other ways of persuasion. We take one of those damn brats he was traveling with, and just maybe, kill that one who did this to me. (holds up his arm that's all bandaged his eyes glow red) (cut to karri sleeping on gregor ship)
CHAPTER 21 THE CHASE
(Chapter opens with Tenebris the next day)
Arthor: (walks out onto deck)
Tenebris: mornin. how'd you sleep?
Arthor: Like i could sleep, all I could think about was what would happen if karri got captured by the Kongur.
Tenebris: Jaeja said that he was with gregor, he wont let anything happen to him.
Arthor: that doesn't really fill me with confidence.
Tenebris: what im saying is, we will find him, and bring him back. we know where he's going. relax a little bit.
Arthor: you can relax, because its not your brother that is missing!
Tenebris: I just cant get through to you can I?
Arthor: no, you cant. My brother might trust you enough to the edge of a kingdom and back, but I still don't.
Tenebris: let me tell you a little something on trust. (he walks from the helm and sits on the stairs) It doesn't matter if you trust me...or if you trust gregor, or Jaeja. The alternative is that we're all lying and theirs no hope. which option would you rather have be real?
Arthor: I'd rather have my brother back.
Tenebris: then your going to have to trust us...trust me.
Arthor: I don't trust anybody but myself and my brother. I never will. so just stop trying.
Tenebris: (disappointed) fine...(he gets up and walks the helm)
Arthor: ( leans on the rail and looks out at the sea. )
(cut to karri and gregor)
Karri: Are we there yet!
Gregor: its about a 5 day journey, and we've been on the water for a day, so that would mean?
Karri: its a long time?
Gregor: riiight, so stop asking!
Karri: cant we go any faster?
Gregor: yeah, let me ask the wind to just blow in the right direction for 4 more days.
Karri: so you can go faster?
Gregor: I was being sarcastic....
Karri: well it wont help if you ask it sarcastically it's going to think your making fun of it.
Gregor: (thinking) how stupid is this kid.
Karri: (leans on the edge of the boat)
(cut back to arthor and tenebris at night hiding in a grotto with a fire and eating fish)
Tenebris: If you don't mind me asking....
Arthor: I do.
Tenebris: I haven't even asked it yet.
Arthor: if its anything about the Kongur or our past then Karri has already told you too much.
Tenebris: karri told me about your parents but nothing after that.
Arthor: and its going to stay that way. I don't want to even think of that anymore, like you said its in the past.
Tenebris: (going to say something but stops) (senses something, and quickly puts out the fire)(whispers) Quiet.
Tenebris: ( pushes aside some branches to look through and sees a pirate ship go by) "Hough" if we get to karri without running into those pirates it would be a miracle. with that patrol, we might have to stay here the whole night.
Arthor: no. we have to keep moving, karri and Gregor wont stop for a night we cant either.
Tenebris: if we get caught, I don't know how long I'll be able to use my power.
Arthor: ...I have an idea... you might not like it though.
(arthor and tenebris hide behind some bushes on a small cliff near the shore)
Tenebris: Your right I hate this idea.
Arthor: do you have any better ideas?
Tenebris: yes.
Arthor: too late. (points at a pirate ship heading directly for their boat that they moved into plain sight and lit lights o. cut to the pirates)
Pirate 1: we've got a civilian ship near the shore.
Captain: A civilian ship eh? Im sure they wouldn't mind us taking some of their wealth off their hands. take us in. ( the ship shoots out chains into the ship and gets next to their ship and pirates board)
Pirate 2: there's nobody here?
(arthor and tenebris jump down and kick two pirates off of the ship )
Captain: Bloody hell! its them! ( Arthor pulls out his dagger and tenebris rings light up, arthor dashes for the captain, pirates try and stop him but tenebris spirits incapacitate them, arthor reaches the captain and locks blades, arthor slides his dagger down the blade and rolls under his legs and kicks his knee dropping him and he goes to cut his head off)
Tenebris: Arthor no! (as he punches a pirate)
Arthor: ( stops ) (The pirate goes to elbow him but he dodges and kicks him in the head into the wheel knocking him out) (tenebris and his spirits handle all the rest of the pirates all on the deck)
(cut to them tying all the pirates up and closing the brig doors)
Arthor: the plan worked perfectly.
Tenebris: perfect isn't what i would call it.
Arthor: cant I get a little credit!
Tenebris: you could have until you almost killed that guy.
Arthor: But I didn't, even though he deserved it.
Tenebris: Stop, just because he is a pirate does not mean he deserves to die.
Arthor: they prbably have already killed someone and their trying to kill us!
Tenebris: (grabs his arm and rolls up his sleeve to show the crossed out tattoo) look at this!
Arthor: (angrily tries to pull his arm away)
Tenebris: That is not your life anymore!
Arthor: (pulls his arm away and puts his sleeve down)
Tenebris: (he calms down a bit) ....Lets get moving.... (walks past arthor who is angrily looking down)
(they set sail in the pirates ship)
CHAPTER 22 CHANGING TIDE
(The chapter opens with Tenebris and Arthor on the pirate ship a couple days later)
Arthor: (looks at another pirate ship in the distance passing them by without a problem)
Tenebris: Thanks to you, we should be in Renna by tonight.
Arthor: that's great.
Tenebris: I thought you would be a little happier.
Arthor: I am
Tenebris: Clearly.
Arthor: I don't need a smile on my face to be happy.
Tenebris: I agree, but your Orku says otherwise.
Arthor: on with that orku stuff again. I didn't ask you to tell me what im feeling, I know my emotions better than you.
Tenebris: I wasn't trying to tell you what you feel, I was just concerned is all
Arthor: well don't be.
Tenebris: (goes to talk but stops) fine. (cut to karri and gregor)
(karri walks to the deck)
Gregor: Good morning little buddy
Karri: good morning, how far out are we?
Gregor: just over a day days.
Karri: any sign of trouble at all?
Gregor: not as yet. but theirs still plenty of time.
Karri: No, no time, no trouble.
Gregor: ahh come on don't you want a little excitement. It would give ya a good story to tell.
Karri: I don't want anything slowing us down. the faster we get to Renna, the faster we can bring a doctor back and help Tenebris.
Gregor: you know its kinda weird you call your dad by his first name.
Karri: Oh, tenebris isn't my father.
Gregor: he isn't? so what is he then, like a uncle or family member?
Gregor: damn...I hopped that wasn't the answer to that question.
Karri: it's alright, I don't really remember them, but I know they were good people, that helped a lot of people.
Gregor: I....am not going to ask anymore questions about that. I....have a surprise!
Karri: we're there!
Gregor: No! somewhere better.
Karri: If it's not Renna then I don't want to go (stomach growls)
Gregor: Looks like it's perfect timing for the best breakfast you've ever had.
Karri: I...guess we have some time to stop for food. (cut to them opening up a door to a tavern that's pact. they sit down at a table and a server comes out holding food and drinks)
Server: Welcome to Elvo's finest Tavern, The Travelers Choice tavern, what can I get for ya. (sees gregor) oh...Gregor. What are you doing here?
Gregor: I've just come for a fine breakfast with my friend here. (slaps karri on the back)
Server: (nervous laugh) Ok then...what would you like.
Gregor: one of Everything please.
Server: O..Ok...(she walks away and starts serving other people)
Karri: your known everywhere.
Gregor: you don't get to be the Greatest sailor on the sea without people noticing! HA HA.
(a little while later the server puts food all across the table)
Server: here you are sir.
Gregor: thank you mam
Karri: wow this is a lot, do you even have enough money for all this
Server: It's on the house
Karri: wow, you really are famous, you even get stuff for free!
Gregor: lets see if you can keep up.
(karri and gregor start eating furiously, all the other customers look over surprised and they finish everything in a short period)
Gregor: (stuffed) ohhh, what you think lil buddy?
Karri: (stuffed) that was Incredible, I've never had food this good before
Gregor: are you crying?
Karri: no! (is definitely crying)
(cut to Arthor and Tenebris at sundown)
Arthor: how close are we?
Tenebris: any minute now we should see the gate to Renna
Arthor: (looks around) woah is that it! (points)
Tenebris: (looks over) that sure is!
Arthor: we've made it!
Tenebris: That gate is our way into Renna, and to find karri.
Arthor: uh, tenebris, theirs bunch of ships heading for us?
Tenebris: they need to do an inspection probably
Arthor: they don't seem to be trader ships.
Tenebris: (looks at the ships more closely and sees a legionary flag)
(the legionary ships start firing on them)
(Tenebris turns the wheel to avoid the cannon fire and arthor flies backward onto the deck)
Arthor: why are they shooting at us!
Tenebris: (looks up at the pirate flag waving)
Tenebris: oh sh...
CHAPTER 23 TALE OF TWO PATHES
(the chapter opens with Arthor and tenebris under attack )
Tenebris: Arthor the flag! they think were pirates!
Arthor: Oh! I didn't think about!
Tenebris: take the helm ill try and get their attention. (arthor runs over unsteadily and grabs the wheel, as tenebris disappears and reappears and grabs the flag and rips it off and goes to the deck and his arms and the flag around the ship fires a cannon and it goes right into the ships hull lower deck and the wheel pulls really hard to one side sending arthor to the ground)
Tenebris: STOP WERE NOT PIRATES! WE GOOD GUYS!
Arthor: We've lost control of the ship we're dead in the water!
Tenebris: (the legionary ships stop firing and a glimmer shines from the boast an lands on the pirate ship)
(a small dark skinned woman with long pink hair and Royal legionary armor on. she has a mask hanging on her belt, with a badge with the number 17 next to it. her eyes glow pink)
Sol: You have a lot of nerve showing up here, dead star pirates.
Tenebris: no no, you have it all wrong, we are not pirates.
Sol: then why are you on their ship and holding their flag?
Tenebris: (throws the flag down) we commandeered their ship so we could get through the thousand isles without being noticed by the dead star pirates.
Sol: and him what about him? (points to arthor)
Arthor: (eyes glowing green)
Tenebris: He's under my protection.
Sol: hmm...how did you manage to commandeer a ship, I sense no orku at all from you.
Tenebris: it's a long story but...(the ship starts sinking)
Sol: either way, your coming with us, to explain yourselves.
Tenebris: the pirates who were on this ship are trapped downstairs
Sol: get abord my ship I will deal with them. (her ship pulls up beside them and puts down a bridge. Tenebris and arthor cross over and sol stands on the deck)
Sol: (Closes her eyes and everything turns translucent and she finds Orku coming from people in the bridge below deck. she punches the deck and she jumps down and rips the door off its hinges. jumps up with multiple pirates in her arms)
Tenebris: Arthor, what's wrong?
Arthor: (eyes glowing green) what do you think we're being taken by Legionaries.
Tenebris: not all legionaries are evil.
Arthor: they might not be evil, but that doesn't mean their no self absorbed Basterds who just want to have power over people.
Tenebris: well, you going to have to calm down otherwise they might take you intent as a threat. then we'll never see karri again.
Arthor: aghh (his eyes stop glowing)
(Sol lands on the ship with three more pirates in her arms)
Sol: that's the last of them, looks like you were telling the truth.
Tenebris: Now that you know we we're telling the truth, we need to get to Renna
Sol: you don't have any grounds to make commands you still need to be questioned. (looks at tenebris and arthor) but it seems like your telling the truth so we'll be going to Renna...but it's not because you asked for it....its because...uh...That's just where we happen to be going.
Tenebris: (thinking) what happened to her serious deminer?
Legionary 1: Captain we are ready to depart. no other ships have been spotted in the area.
Sol: alrighty then, lets get going. (the ship starts heading to the gate were other legionary ships stand guard and the gates open and they close behind the ship)
Arthor: This is insane, I hope Karri's doing better then us right now.
(cut to gregor and karri)
Gregor: (The camera zoomed in on their faces) This is the most difficult thing I've done in all my years of traveling the seas, if this doesn't work I don't know what we're going to do!
Karri: I believe in us, we have to get to Renna, we need to get this to work!
Gregor: (The camera zooms out to show them trying to make the food they had at the tavern) We've followed the recipe exactly, it should taste as good as the tavern made it.
Karri: im too nervous
Gregor: we have to do it. on three...one...uh...three! (they both bite into it and their faces immediately are disappointed)
Karri: this is our 4th attempt and we still cant make it as good as the tavern
Gregor: I don't think we'll ever have food a good as theirs again!
(Cut back to Tenebris and Arthor)
Tenebris: im sure their fine.
(Tenebris and Arthor stand on deck being watched by several legionaries)
Tenebris: is this really necessary? you need 6 guards for a wounded man, and a child?
Sol: no...i mean yes!...wait no we don't. its not like your going anywhere, but what if your lying and try to take over the ship...but then I'd just stop you...so why do we have people watching you?
Arthor: what are you talking about?
Sol: Never mind! if you guys are uncomfortable we can...wait im not supposed to be offering anything to prisoners...uh...I don't care if your comfortable!
Arthor: im so confused.
Tenebris: same...(arm pulses and tenebris staggers) agh!
Arthor: tenebris!
Sol: AHHH, what's wrong with you, im sorry, i didn't mean it we can make you more comfortable! was I too mean.
Arthor: its not that, we need to get him to a hospital!
Sol: What happened!?
Arthor: its his arm?
Sol: his arm?
Tenebris: I used... (falls to the ground and starts blacking out)...too much (out)
CHAPTER 24 THE GATE
(the chapter opens with a black screen)
Karri: Tenebris...Tenebris...Tenebris wake up! (Tenebris Opens his eyes sits up and finds himself in a pool of glowing water with his shirt and bandages off ) (starts coughing up black ichor )
Arthor: Tenebris your awake!
Tenebris: aghk (more rushes out of his mouth) agh...Arthor..
Arthor: it's alright, I got you some help, were in a hospital in Renna.
Tenebris: Karri...I heard karri...where is he?
Arthor: we haven't been able to find him, I think he's still on his way here. (he helps tenebris up)
Tenebris: (looks at his chest and arm and sees the black ichor has receded, sees his hand is missing his engagement ring, and he grabs his neck and his necklace isn't there (his eyes turn violent blue and his heir radiates) where are they?
Arthor: I should get the doctor.
(The doctor comes in and tenebris appears in front of him)
Tenebris: where are my rings.
Doctor: (steps back scared) we had to take them off, they had anda energy that would have hindered the procedure.
Tenebris: Where are they.
Doctor: I'll take you to your room to get dressed.
Tenebris: (eyes stop glowing and his hair stops)(they walk out of the door and start walking down the hall)
(Sol and gaurds come running in)
Sol: whats going on!? (sees Tenebris) Your awake?
Tenebris: I am, I suppose I have you to thank for bringing me here.
Sol: (Thinking) EEEEEKK HES SO CUTE (Aloud) your cute...AHH..I mean your welcome.
Tenebris: I apologies for any trouble I have caused you.
Sol: O...Ok
(Tenebris, Arthor, and The Doctor walks past them)
Sol: (thinking) Huh? He has the same strange Orku I sensed just now, but that was a massive amount, and he barely has any like before. who is this guy?
Legionary 1: captain
Sol: AHH I'm not thinking about him!
Legionary 1: ok
(arthor and Tenebris)
Tenebris: how long was i out for?
Arthor: only for about half a day
Tenebris: definitely shorter than the last couple times.
Arthor: Yeah, I thought you said it might be connected to your Orku? but you barely used any.
Tenebris: I really have no idea, but that was my leading theory. but whatever they did here seemed to counteract the spreading (looks at his arm that now s only covered up to his shoulder in the black ichor) anyway, if I was out for half a day, what did you get up to?
Arthor: the legionary lady took me to another building and they questioned me about the dead star pirates but I couldn't tell them anything about them other than the descriptions of the captains.
Tenebris: what about karri?
Arthor: I asked them if someone who looked like me came through the southern gate, but they told me that the southern gate has been backed up.
Tenebris: yeah, with the pirates covering the northern part of the thousand isles it makes sense that every trader with business in Renna would go through the southern gate.
Doctor: here is your room sir, all of your belongings are inside, we will be with you shortly.
Tenebris: thank you. (the doctor rushes off) (starts getting dressed)
Arthor: you said you heard karri? what do you mean in like a dream or something?
Tenebris: maybe...It's hard to remember.
Arthor: (looks sad)
Tenebris: don't worry, if he isn't here yet it's because they went through the southern gate they might be there for who knows how long.
(Another doctor comes in)
Doctor 2: Hello there, (looks at his notes) Tinyberis
Tenebris: its tenebris
Doctor 2: ah good that was a test and you passed (writes down and says) Remembers how to say his name. Alright let me look at your case here...Oh.
Tenebris: what the problem?
Doctor 2: well it appears we have interesting results on your procedure.
Tenebris: ok
Doctor 2: We were not able to identify the substance covering your arm, but it appeared to be draining your orku at an extreme rate. To off set the consumption of Orku we placed you in a Renna pit and cut off as much as we could. however we were not able to remove all of it. the ichor around your neck, shoulder, and abdomen seemed to have grown recently and were not fused with your body yet. unlike the ichor on your arm.
Tenebris: so if its draining my Orku what can I do to stop it spreading?
Doctor 2: Your rings appeared to hold Anda energy that was interacting with the Ichor differently than natural Orku. I am curious what lead to the creation of this Anda rings?
Tenebris: You don't want to know. trust me.
(Arthor notices)
Doctor 2: okay then I will take your word for it.
Tenebris: so is that it, you cant do anything, just keep wearing the rings until their energy runs out?
Doctor 2: unfortunately we cant know for sure...however we have made Shiruku Bandages like the ones you have been wearing. the malmite inside the bandages should contain the spread of the ichor.
Tenebris: anything else.
Doctor 2: that's all we know for now, im sorry but this case is entirely unique. we haven't seen anything like this in the past 200 years.
Tenebris: alright.
Doctor 2: A nurse should be back in shortly to wrap up the arm. after that I believe miss Lyon wanted to question you.
Tenebris: Lyon?
Arthor: that's the Royal bitch that sunk our ship.
Tenebris: You really need to work on your language.
Arthor: (shrugs)
(cut to a nurse bandaging his arm and sol walks in)
Sol: mister tenebris, I have a few questions for you
Tenebris: I will answer to the best of my ability
Sol: first question are you single..
Tenebris: excuse me?
Sol: nothing! The pirates! the boy said you had an altercation with the Leaders of the dead star pirates, is that what caused your injuries?
Tenebris: no, we were able to escape without any injuries.
Sol: (Thinking) So the boy was telling the truth, they did fight Corvis and the others and didn't receive any injuries. that means that power earlier. that must have been him.
Tenebris: are you okay?
Sol: (just staring at him) what? Sorry I was lost in thought. anyway, second question, you told me why you were on the dead star's ship but why did you go through to the north gate knowing the dangers you would face? why did you even come to Renna in the first place?
Tenebris: We're looking for a boy named karri, we believe he was on his way here traveling with a trader named Gregor.
Sol: Who is this boy, why are you looking for him?
Tenebris: Karri is his brother (points to Arthor) He left to find help here for whatever's going on with me. we took the north gate to get here before he arrived.
Sol: (thinking) His story lines up with the boys.
Arthor: Enough questions, my brother is out there by himself we need to send out a search party to find him, were wasting time with these questions!
Tenebris: Arthor, we'll find him, but we need to fill the legions in on his details so they can help.
Arthor: Like they would ever help, im out of here, ill look for him myself!
Tenebris: Arthor wait! (Arthor is already out of the door) Excuse me, ill get back to you. (he walks out of the door)
